Online Communication
How we share information and data
Our lab uses several outlets for communication with which RA's should familiarize themselves. These tools are especially important for our multi-site studies and to maintain consistency across the lab.
Slack
Slack is a means of online communication similar to GroupMe or WhatsApp. With Slack, lab members can log into their project's workspace and have access to shared documents, previous lab conversations, meeting notes, and can quickly communicate to anyone else on the project. Slack also has a "channels" feature that allows for discussions to be organized by topic. Learn more about Slack at https://slack.com/. We recommend that RA's download the app to receive phone notifications.
Databrary
Databrary.org is a secure online database for sharing and storing de-identified data, or data that has all identifying information removed so that it cannot be linked back to the participant. Participants must consent to having their de-identified data uploaded to Databrary under one of the following release levels:

To gain access to Databrary, RA's must add themselves as a Cornell University affiliate and request access from Dr. Casasola. Visit https://nyu.databrary.org/ for more information.
Box
The Cornell Box drive is another secure online resource that we use to share de-identified data, behavioral videos, spreadsheets, study protocols, statistical analyses, IRB submissions, etc. RA's must log into Box using their Cornell email and password, and will need to contact their graduate student project leader for access. Visit https://it.cornell.edu/box for more information.
Zoom
Zoom is an online video-conference service, similar to Skype. With Zoom, you can video-chat with project collaborators and schedule meetings to facilitate active communication. Visit https://zoom.us/ent?zcid=2582 for more information and to create an account.
Google Drive
Looking for poster templates or need to access general lab protocols? Our Google Drive will be a great help to you! The Google Drive has years of lab documents that may help you get started in the Play and Learning Lab. Access to the CISL email is required to use the Google Drive, so email Deaven if you need the username and password.
